Sustainable Regional Development Policy: Implications for Regional Economy and Improvement of Urban Quality of Life
Abstract
This study examines the implications of sustainable regional development policies on regional economic growth and urban quality of life. Using a literature review approach, the research identifies that sustainable development policies have a positive impact on job creation, enhancing regional competitiveness through green sectors, and improving quality of life through pollution reduction, the development of green spaces, and the strengthening of sustainable transportation systems. However, the implementation of these policies faces challenges, including the lack of coordination between different levels of government, limited funding, and insufficient private sector involvement. This study recommends strengthening collaboration between central and local governments and promoting the use of performance-based financing models involving the private sector. Theoretically, this research emphasizes the importance of integrating social, economic, and environmental policies. Practically, the findings provide guidance for policymakers to create more inclusive and coordinated sustainable development strategies. Future research is recommended to incorporate empirical field data and develop more innovative financing models to support long-term sustainability.
