Laju Infiltrasi Pada Berbagai Jenis Penggunaan Lahan Yang Terdapat Di Sub Daerah Aliran Sungai (Sub Das) Wera Kecamatan Dolo Barat Kabupaten Sigi
Abstract
The water absorption and infiltration capacities of a catchment area decrease as vegetation cover is reduced, since vegetation plays an important role in water retention within a watershed (DAS). A watershed is a land unit that functions to collect, store, and convey water for various purposes. Different land uses can alter soil physical properties, thereby affecting the rate of water infiltration into the soil. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze infiltration rates under different land use types in the Wera Sub-Watershed (Sub-DAS), Dolo Barat District, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. The study was conducted from September to December 2024 in the Wera Sub-DAS. The observed land use types included secondary land, fields, dry land, and agroforestry land. Infiltration data were analyzed using the Horton infiltration method. The results showed that the highest infiltration rate occurred in agroforestry land, reaching 23.69 cm h?¹ (very fast) with a clay soil texture. Secondary land had an infiltration rate of 22.16 cm h?¹ (second fastest) with a sandy clay texture, while fields recorded 18.90 cm h?¹ (fast). The lowest infiltration rate was found in dry land at 8.87 cm h?¹ (moderately fast), which was associated with silty clay texture, high bulk density, and low soil porosity that limited water infiltration. These findings indicate that land use and soil physical characteristics strongly influence infiltration rates in the Wera Sub-Watershed.
